Lyme Disease My Thoughts

Through my life experience I have learned that sometimes people get out of balance with their own well-being and through the last decade, I’ve gathered such an incredible amount of knowledge about wellness and detox, that I can often see a clear path for anyone who is feeling out of balance. If they listen to and adapt the things I’ve learned, I am confident that I can guide them back to the balance they are looking for.

I was going through my blog posts a few weeks ago and realized how much you loved my post, My Thoughts, five years ago. It was by far the most popular blog post I’ve ever written and you poured out your thoughts and heart and soul in the comments, therefore I thought a follow up to that post would be lovely to write for you right before the launch of my book.

My life experience has shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to. It took me 10 years to navigate illness and reach a place of wellness where my life flows with ease and beauty every day. Now, I want to hand over my tips and secrets to you step-by-step in my new book book.

My cookbook Eating Clean: The 21-Day Plan to Detox, Fight Inflammation, and Reset Your Body (over 200 recipes no gluten, dairy, soy, sugar, eggs, corn, etc.) plus how to detox your body and your life (cleaning supplies, beauty products, home, etc.) is now available in stores nationwide. It also includes my story of how I detoxed and healed from 10 years of chronic illness. This book also has 3 FULL detailed pages of all the top tests you need for Integrative/Functional Medicine that doctors don’t tell anyone about!

The last few years have made me realize that I find great joy in helping people heal.

When I was struggling with my health and was suffering from awful symptoms, I wish I had someone to ask questions to and wish I could have found a book that had all the information that I needed to heal and unlock the mysteries that were going on inside of my body.

This book will do just that…

But since it doesn’t come out for another 4 days (you can order online by clicking below), I thought I’d share a few more thoughts with you about life, healing and what I’m thinking lately.

I’m 33. I’ve realized that for the last 30 years I listened to other people telling me what to do, how to eat, what to eat, when to eat, etc. And the intensity of that tripled the last 10 years because I was so lost with what was going on inside of my body.

I was told to cut out gluten.

Then after a colonoscopy the MD told me I didn’t have celiac disease and I could eat gluten.

Mayo Clinic told me I needed more dairy for calcium.

Then, I got awful stomach aches every time I ate dairy.

After I had C-Diff colitis and suffered with 24 hours to live, I was told to eat more conventional red meat.

I read books about people who healed from being vegan.

I met people who swore that being paleo was the answer.

I heard people speak about macrobiotic diets.

I listened to folks chatting about local vs. organic produce.

I saw article after article about GMO’s.

Every doctor tried a new protocol on me.

Every nurse told me that some other symptom I had was a new diagnosis.

Everyone had a different answer for the dark circles under my eyes.

Every specialist guessed at what was going on in my body- in the beginning I was told I had Leukemia- which was incorrect. Then I went on to learn I had Lyme, Adrenal Failure, Hormone Imbalance, etc….the doctors just rattled things off right and left and I felt taken over by the failing body that I was in.

I spent years trying to figure out if I had Candida or SIBO. Now I finally understand the difference and how to test for each. (Don’t let a doctor tell you that you have one of these things without being tested for it–their symptoms are very similar).

I spent years years eating nothing but 3 foods. Yes, you heard me. That is NOT a typo. 3 foods.

I spent every Friday and Saturday night for the last 6 years in front of my computer reading, researching and looking at books to help me understand what the HECK my body was doing and how to get it back into alignment.

As I’ve said before, I wanted a magic pill.

There was no magic pill for me and as painful as it was to realize that at the time, I now understand there was a reason that the pills didn’t work for me. It was to teach me how to heal myself and to listen more to myself and what worked for ME- not what worked for what everyone else was doing.

I was so bombarded by everything that one day I just stopped. I stopped listening to what everyone else was doing and decided to do what worked for ME and only me. I didn’t care if people laughed that I ate raw zucchini when I needed a snack on the subway or that I had to only eat soaked nuts and seeds when my belly was sensitive.

I’m done with reading medical books. I’m done with everything medical. That phase of my life is over and I’m moving on. My story at the time seemed so rare and unheard of – friends thought I was crazy, my co-workers thought I was nuts, my family didn’t know what to do or say and everyone looked at me like I had 10 heads since I had a bloated belly, exhaustion and two handfuls worth of symptoms that no one could address.

My new life is free of every medical device I bought. My new apartment is beautiful and the furniture is all white and pretty. My life has shifted and I’m so grateful to be where I am right now because what I went through happened for a reason- to inspire you, help you, hold your hand and show you that you can’t give up. That life isn’t supposed to be hard. That you can and will find your answers. That I’m here for you. That you are NOT alone. That you are not broken. And that you are beautiful. Whether you’re suffering from tiny symptoms like headaches or chronic illness, I assure you my new book will help you start your journey to wellness and well-being.

I love all of you and I’m so grateful for you. Without you reading my blog and supporting me and my book and my social media platforms I wouldn’t be here today bringing a book into your homes next week. And for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Our work here is not done- we have many many many more things to share together and my life is just beginning. I will continue to share my journey with you and help you along the way with tips and recipes and content to make you smile and bring you into a state of well-being.

Take time for yourself.

Take a few deep belly breaths.

Take an Epsom salt bath so your skin can soak up the magnesium.

Make yourself a cup of hot tea and curl up with my book. I know it will help you. I know it will make you smile. I know- I do. I know it will. It’s written in my voice, with my energy and passion on every page and as soon as you bite into one of the (over 200 recipes), you’ll be grinning from ear to ear and sending me a note telling me how amazing you feel and how your days of feeling deprived and along are OVER. O-V-E-R. I’m here for you. I love you. I’m hugging you from NYC and sending you so much love and light.

xo

Full time working mom though with a limited budget and even more limited time…how can I possibly make the healthy eating thing work with so little time for cooking?? Worried I simply can’t do all this even though I want to!!
