Detox-Tea_0021

You guys know I love tea. And I love lemon in tea, too.

And since you’ve been with me throughout my detox period ridding the heavy metals from my body the last few years, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite beverages that’s always refreshing and quite tasty.

Detox-Tea_0022

I created this tea detox recipe a few weeks ago on a Friday night in my Manhattan apartment.

I had just been told that I had to cut out sugar from my lifestyle.

And I almost lost my mind.

I had Candida and it wasn’t fun. So, just like anyone else that is in excruciating pain- you do what you’ve gotta do to heal and help your body get better asap.

So, I purchased a few bottles of purified spring water. A few different herbal and green teas.

A bottle of organic apple cider vinegar.

Liquid stevia.

Fresh, organic cilantro and a whole ‘lotta fresh, organic lemons.

Yep, that’s all you’ll need.

I love tea but I’ve never written about it on my blog, which is kinda sorta crazy since I drink about 10 cups a day.

Don’t look at me like that. I know you like tea, too.

Or some sort of beverage that you drink 10 times a day. (I really hope it’s not soda)… Please tell me it’s not soda.

This is totally a summer beverage your whole family will be loving. Or maybe just you.

As for me, I’m heading downtown to the West Village to soak up the sunshine and read a new book. Of course, I’ve packed two water bottles with this tea to enjoy all afternoon.

Store-bought teas just aren’t the same.

Believe me. You’ll love it.

Here’s to cooling off the heat wave wherever you are this week.

Enjoy.

I was buying Barlean’s and it has slipped my mind! Wonderful product to get in those needed Omeaga’s. Hope I’m the winner. You have such nutritional give a ways!

  3. I normally drink ACV, honey and water, but this is good variation, and I love tea! Only change is I will use local honey instead of stevia.

  4. I think this is one superb recipe for preparing green tea. Nice one. … the great taste can make me drink herbal teas.….

Wow, this really looks delicious! I love tea but have not tried white tea yet so this is definitely peaking my interest. 🙂 Thanks so much Amie for posting all these delicious recipes!

  6. Have you read this article about tennis star Novak Djokovic’s experiences with integrative medicine and the success of his gf eating? http://www.online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324354704578638142604610644.html?mod=WSJ_article_TennisHeadlines
I hope the publicity surrounding his book and his tennis improvement focuses not on the “out there-ness” but rather on the growing use and acceptance of holistic treatment. Unfortunately, the growing awareness of gluten intolerance has resulted the perception of gf as just a diet trend — maybe you could take a poll on the number of celiacs whose traditional drs. have misdiagnose/accused them of eating disorders…? But now that a male — bonus points for being a professional athlete and straight — is “coming out” about eating gluten free, will the rest of us get some respect (although the words “Jeremy Piven” are stil a curse…)?

  7. White tea? Huh, never heard of it. I always have green tea on hand. Is there much difference as far as taste goes?
