Vegan White Bean & Dill Spread

by Amie on December 9, 2013

I’s that time of year when we’re busy wrapping presents, drinking (dairy-free) eggnog and running from holiday party to holiday party.

So many of my clients have been asking me for healthy appetizers or light meals during the hectic holiday season.

Well have no fear, Amie is here.

And I’ve got an easy peasy bean dip recipe just for you today!

Almost all of my clients have a can of beans in their pantry. I’m sure you do, too. Add a bit of sea salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil and you’re all set.

That’s it.

I simply toss all of these ingredients into a food processor and poof- a perfectly homemade (and healthy) dip that you can serve for your upcoming holiday party with sliced veggies, gluten-free tortilla chips and rice crackers.

Have some leftover dip? No worries…use a spoonful or two on your gluten-free toast the next morning or serve it as a ‘hummus’ on your lunchtime salad or stuffed into your burrito or fajitas for dinner.

Simple, right?

I told ya so!

Now go open up your pantry and have a mini party in your kitchen.

Looks like a really nice alternative to hummus! But could any other kind of bean be used and still taste similar? :)

Amie December 9, 2013 at 11:35 am

Yes you can use any bean you’d like. Enjoy!

Oh my goodness this looks so good! I love love love dill, and white beans are great because they’re so creamy without having to add oil like with chickpeas. I seriously want to make this asap! I think I have just enough fresh dill left to do it, too. One tasty snack, coming up! :)

I have made hummus once so far in my new processor and this recipe interests me to use another variety of beans. I hope to one day own the vitamix, it is my dream kitchen appliance at this time. The Delux Kit of Non-Toxic Cleaning Supplies would be great to have in my house because are pets have made it hard to keep the house with all of their fur and such. New cleaning products would probably make my mom happy.

Rachel Webb December 11, 2013 at 8:45 pm

What an amazing giveaway to promote clean living not just clean eating. It is so important to realize how much our environment affects our lives. I could really use all of these cleaning items as I want to live cleaner and have been very limited to things more like vinegar and the old chemical cleaners I have not been able to replace yet due to cost rather than a good set of base cleaners to work with. I know there importance and would be very grateful for something to replace those nasty ones that sit in my cleaning tub. Thank you for all that you do to help others live cleaner healthier lives.

Amelia December 11, 2013 at 8:51 pm

Tracy December 19, 2013 at 10:32 pm

This looks wonderful. I might try it with sage instead of dill.

Maria December 26, 2013 at 10:44 pm

Amie, this is a great recipe!!!! I was wondering if I could use dried dill instead of fresh. I don’t always have fresh on hand. Is there any others herbs you would recommend for to use in this recipe? Do you think basil would work okay? I always have that fresh. Thanks for the help!!!! Your recipes are always so yummy!!

Amie December 26, 2013 at 10:52 pm

Yes of course Maria; I use Simply Organic or Frontier Organic Dried Dill and it’s fabulous. Basil works well, too. Enjoy!
Happy Holidays!
