This pretty much sums up my past 2 weeks on the West Coast.

Sleepless.

In…

Seattle.

And

Portland.

With a few minor stops along the way… and so much fun in between.

I spent the last two weeks in the Pacific Northwest and boy o’ boy was it a trip to remember.

First stop was at the BlogHer Food Conference in Seattle…

Then a few days in Portland with friends…

And then back to Seattle to speak at the Gluten Intolerance Conference in Seattle.

In between I had lots of fun hanging out with the Almond Board, playing in the All Recipes test kitchen, visiting the orchards of Tree Top Apple Juice (more to come on that press trip soon), hosting an event for Whole Foods Market, exploring the yummy fresh food Seattle markets (Pike’s Place is my favorite), eating lots n’ lots of food and hiking up some pretty incredible mountains in Portland.

Yes, I climbed this guy. A lil’ misty but so fun.

Yep- I did all that in just two weeks time.

And I’m ready for a nap.

A very long nap.

Maybe even two naps, hehe.

Because I’m back on the East Coast for a few days before I head to California to play in the Thermador test kitchens!

I think I need a green tea…or maybe a Starbucks…I couldn’t help resist to take a picture of this cute original Seattle Starbucks sign.

I was so content – watching the banjo playing and sipping my tea on the Seattle streets.

So simple, yet so fun.

I loved the Pacific Northwest but it’s good to be home and at the beach on the East Coast again.

How’s your June going?

  1. I visited Starbucks headquarters and toured a bit of Seattle last year — love that area – everyone is so friendly, warm, and willing to have an educational conversation. Can’t wait to have a reason to go back again!

    1. That sounds like so much fun! Eish I could have gone on the tour of Starbucks! Have a great night, Cate and great to hear from you!

  2. Love the photos! Would love to get to Pike’s Place market one day. Or even Chelsea Market for that matter. Only getting as far as the Jersey coast this summer but it’s a trip!
