foods that contain gluten

It just dawned on me that I’ve written about gluten-free living for a decade but I haven’t given you a list. Well, get ready to print this baby out for your records!

Here is a list of foods and ingredients that contain gluten to help you when you’re at the food store. Take time to look at the labels of all your packaged foods BEFORE you purchase them. I’m notorious for purchasing things like mustard (which I never think has gluten in it) and then I get home to see it contains gluten. Train your eyes to know what gluten is lurking in. Make sure you purchase the gluten-free version of items such as cereal and breads if you’re in the mood for those foods but be aware for added sugars and other inflammatory ingredients in gluten-free packaged foods. There are amazing gluten-free brands out there (see my cookbook for a full list broken down by category) but there are also many unhealthy gluten-free foods that line the aisles of the food store so beware.

Enjoy!

  1. Hi Amie. On your list, you say that Rice Dream Milk contains gluten. However, I don’t see any gluten ingredients on it and the packaged is marked gluten free. Was this put on the list in error?
