Today I’m sharing a fabulous smoothie recipe with you from my friend and 10x NY Times best-selling author, Mark Hyman, M.D. As many of you know, Mark wrote the foreword for my cookbook, Eating Clean. He’s an incredible person, functional medicine doctor and friend. His work is inspiring and truly magical. He’s helped so many people get their health and their lives back from health issues spanning from heavy metals to gut imbalances to nutrient deficiencies and more. I’m amazed at how eager and devoted he is to helping us live in a word that’s full of organic, wholesome foods and medical care that truly cares about getting to the root cause instead of just looking to cover up symptoms with a band-aid approach. So, in honor of his new cookbook, Eat Fat, Get Thin Cookbook, I’m sharing one of the best smoothie recipes that I’ve tasted in awhile!

Mark Hyman Smoothie

This is a super easy smoothie that you can make in under 5 minutes for breakfast in the morning or for an afternoon snack when you need a pick me up. Unlike most smoothies, this one has coconut oil in it to give you a dose of healthy fats to hold you over and keep your metabolism going strong! It’s also got arugula, my favorite detox veggie, strawberries, avocado (an incredibly healthy fat) and unsweetened almond or hazelnut milk. It’s delicious and I’m so excited to share this recipe from Mark’s cookbook with you. I’m also giving away a copy of his new book. To enter, leave a comment below as to why you want to win this cookbook.

I’ll pick a winner on December 15th after 5PM EST. Good luck!

xx

I just bought your book last week, I’m planning on starting to go clean. I have several health issues, lupus, primary immune deficiency, Sjogren’s adrenal insufficiency due to over use of steroids. I want so bad to feel alive again. I am a RN and out of work because of my severe fatigue, chronic pain and frequent infections caused by my immune system .i can’t wait to start my new life following your 21 day detox. Thank you, Laurie

I love functional medicine, and want to share it with my friends and family. I would love to have a copy of this book so that I can make all the recipes from it and share with others.

  3. Why I want to win this book?

My family struggles with diseases too much: obesity, metabolic syndrome, severe depression, joints pain, eczema and recently my little boy of 5 yo has been diagnosed wirh autism. We have enough to just miserably survive!
This is also hard to change lifestyle. We need to educate ourself, to find ressources and recipes!
