So, the groundhog didn’t see his shadow… Well, that means Spring is a’ comin’…

It’s time for some early ‘Spring Cleaning’.

With all this sleet n’ snow and messy mush around Manhattan, I can’t help myself from daydreaming of Springtime … Just the thoughts of flip-flops and tee-shirts and sun dresses brings a smile to my frozen face, hehe.

So, I got to thinking. Why not create a little Spring-like feeling in my very own home? I lit some candles, turned on a little smooth jazz, baked some fresh lavender muffins and got to work.

You can easily start by rearranging your pantry to make these healthy skin additions for figure-friendly and facial-friendly meals easy and delicious.

Olive Oil. Nutrient rich and helpful in digestion, olive oil gives your skin an extra glow, hydrating your skin from the inside out.

Green Tea. Green Tea contains polyphenols, antioxidants that help your skin look younger. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? It sure is less expensive than La Mer.  These antioxidants also help your body break down collagen in skin production.

Fresh Fruit. Moisture absorbing pectin helps your body hold moisture and nutrients.

Old Fashioned Oats. A natural noninflammatory food that helps to regulate your skin’s pH balance to lock in moisture and sooth.

Tomatoes. Salsa, tomato sauce and homemade ketchup are a wonderful excellent source of lycopene, a hydrating antioxidant.  Tomatoes will help brighten your skin and keep you hydrated.

What are your Clean Food beauty tips?

  1. I had to comment on this post because groundhogs day is my birthday! I love all these tips on clean eating for clean and healthy skin 🙂 I’m adding several of these items to my shopping list right now! I just had a baby and I want to start eating healthier and taking better care of myself, so that I can take care of him! Thanks for all of the great advice, it’s fabulous!!

  2. I would really like to try Rudi’s multi-grain bread. I haven’t been able to get to a store that sells it.

  3. I’ve never had any bread from Rudi’s but I’ve always wanted to try the multigrain bread.
Definitely going to eat more of the foods you’ve mentioned for good skin. Thanks 🙂
