Hi Amie!
The inside of your fridge is looking gorgeous. What a wonderful list of the healthy home cook.
I’ll take your entire fridge and freezer please, thank you! YUM
Aw; thanks Brittany. It’s easy to stock your fridge with healthy fare; let me know if you need any assistance and thanks for following my blog! Enjoy your weekend. Best, Amie

Hi Amie:
After taking a peek in your fridge it gave me some ideas on what to stock up on. I sometimes at am a loss and can’t think of new things to buy.
I am looking forward to stocking up on some new items and they are all healthy thanks to you.
I love the chocolate bar 70 cocoa which is great for when you have a sweet tooth. A little of that goes a long way to satisfying a craving.
What a great site!!! I can think of a few people right now I will forward it to that will really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Serena…so glad you enjoyed my fridge! Have a wonderful day.
What is greek yogurt exactly? Is it like keffir?
Just curious about it as I’m avoiding dairy also…
Greek yogurt is amazing; it’s a bit thicker than regular yogurt depending on the brand that you purchase. I love Fage, which is the thickest Greek yogurt. My other favorites are Chobani and Oikos, which are both less thick and have a smoother texture. Fage is the consistency of Sour Cream…I love Greek yogurt because since I am lactose intolerant, I cannot digest the lactose in dairy, however, may individuals who are lactose intolerant can digest Greek yogurt because of the way it is strained. I eat Greek plain yogurt everyday, not too much, but always have some for calcium as well as the high protein count. The protein is amazing in Greek yogurt compared to regular yogurt…take a look the next time you are at the food store and compare the proteins in regular yogurt vs. Greek yogurt. Also, many other brads are coming out with Greek yogurts, Voskos, Yoplait, Dannon and Greek God’s Yogurt are a few. I also love Siggi’s yogurt, which is an amazing thick yogurt. Hope this information helped! Have a great day and let me know your thoughts when you try Greek yogurt! Best, Amie
you must be loaded to afford all that fresh food and have loads of time to use it. i have very lil in my fridge, staples n I pick up produce as I plan, its way too $$$ to just buy b/c it looks good or i might make something…
Femme, you don’t have to be ‘loaded’ to afford good food. Produce is cheap if you go to a store that sells produce only, food co-ops and in the summer farmers markets. As for the fancier stuff like Almond milk, you just have to keep your eyes peeled for deals and get what you can afford. I am on a tight budget so I will buy either soy OR almond milk and get whatever is on sale or cheaper that week. I found a really good deal on Almond milk a 4L carton for the price of a 2L carton! It’s actually cheaper at the frilly grocery store than my cheap grocery store. So I go to the frilly store just for the almond milk lol!
And yes I envy those who have the time and passion to put into making good healthy food. You can only do what works for you.
Thank you for your comment as I certainly am not loaded, I live a very simple life and spend most of my money on my food because I feel that food is so important. Thank you, Jeannine for tips, as well. I do the same thing; always looking for a sale and always traveling the extra mile for a less expensive food store here in Manhattan! Have a great night. Best, Amie
Amie! You are amazing!! What a beautiful website! My Mom recently went gluten free and I’m going to tell her to check out the heathly apple….your recipes are great. Hope you are doing well:)
Catherine,
Great to hear from you. Thank you so very much for your kind words…I hope all is well with you and so glad you are enjoying my website. Have a wonderful night and hope to see you soon.

Great list, mine is similar! Question; where are you buying frozen spinach patties?
Thanks so much, Abbey. I have bought the Dr. Pragers frozen spinach patties, which can be found at Whole Foods Market or Health Food Stores. Here is the website: http://www.drpraegers.com/ as he has many frozen patties that are delish. They are not filling, therefore I simply enjoy them as a side dish as they don’t fill me up and are quite mushy in texture but they’re easy to whip up. Hope you enjoy them; have a great night and thanks again for your comment!
Best,
Amie
Love this idea for your blog!
Thanks so much; so happy to hear you’re enjoying what’s in my fridge. It’s all delish, hehe. Enjoy!
Hi Amie,
So some of this has changed though recently I assume? You said you are abstaining from dairy and grains now as well?
do you mind if I ask why and how you know that they are your triggers? What kind of symptoms do you experience.
I fear I have been battling long-term food “poisoining” from spoilage for over a year now…and my whole body is revolting…
I fear that I’m too late – and will never be the same. From it and from binging…ugh…
Any advice? Is it ever too late?
Thank you for your comment…yes, I have to update this page as I have recently had to cut out all grains and dairy as I have had parasites, pathogens, dysbiosis, candita, bacterial overgrowth and now just found out that I have heavy metal toxicity and adrenal failure. I have had to wipe out many foods from my lifestyle and it has been very, very hard and a true struggle as I loved my Greek yogurts and grains and loved many vegetables that I have to now avoid and test to see how my body reacts. I have started working with ‘functional medicine’ doctors and integrative medicine along with acupuncture to heal me instead of using traditional medicine. I hope this information helps. I suggest finding a doctor who tests for parasites, pathogens, etc. as I have been to hundreds of doctors and spent thousands of dollars since December living in chronic pain and being mis-diagnosed. Keep your head up and don’t get frustrated; you will heal and figure out what is ailing you. Good luck and thank you for your comment. xoxo
Hi Amie,
I just discovered your blog through Healthy Bitch Daily and am so inspired. I am an aspiring food blogger, eat completely gluten-free and dairy-free and love the wealth of information you provide here. So many great tips and recipes, it’s fantastic!
Over the past year and a half, I have struggled with stomach issues. Thinking that I was gluten and dairy intolerant, I eliminated these from my diet. Although I definitely saw improvements, I didn’t get 100% better.
I’m curious, how did you discover about the parasites, pathogens, dysbosis, candita, bacteria, etc.? Did you take tests? Was it self-diagnosed? I continue to try new ways of eating, eliminating different foods, and just can’t figure it out! Any tips you have for how you figured it out, would be great!
Thanks again for sharing so much. I can’t wait to follow your blog!
Cheers,
Alyssa
Thank you Alyssa; so sorry for my delay in response as I’ve been traveling and I apologize. Western medicine doctors ran every test under the sun on me and found nothing wrong that’s why I gave up on them and switched to Eastern medicine where they ran completely different tests on me and actually found a few things that were wrong and now they’re fixing me. My doctor is amazing and I honestly love him! I trust him and belive in him whereas all of my 200 other doctors in Western medicine were terrible and kept pushing antibiotics and steriods on me with no answer … just a bandaid to cover up my symptoms.
oxox Feel better and hope this information helps you. Let me know if you need any more help as I’m more than happy to help you! xoxox
Muahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
This sounds like me. I have not eliminated foods though and I don’t like obsessing over food. I cannot afford alternative medicine doctors, it is not even a possibility. What can I do to help myself? (I have also lost a lot of weight and energy because of this and am wary of eliminating foods or following holistic low-calorie plans when I ultimately need to gain weight. What can one do to help oneself if unable to afford pratitioners and with possibility of any of the things you describe above? You can answer me privately since I don’t like to be open on internet.
Thanks Jill; I would look into support groups in your area as well as celiac groups as I’m sure they have some sources local to you that can help. Also, local health food stores and Whole Foods Market are good for advice and to answer any questions. Hope this helps; good luck and keep your head up!
Hi Amie,
May I ask why you keep your nuts in your freezer?
Thanks, Lori
Thanks Lori; I keep my nuts and seeds in the freezer to prevent them from going rancid. I also like a chilled treat at night and enjoy snacking on them when they are chilled…especially atop salads and stir-fry.
Hey Amie, Great food in your ‘fridge and pantry!
