Mango

Helllllllllllo dried mango. You’re so gorgeous and I could eat you all day long.

Have you tried dried mango? If you haven’t, I highly recommend diving into it because it’s so flavorful and delicious.

I know what you’re going to say, “Amie, dried fruit has SO much sugar in it.”

Nope.

Not this kinda dried fruit.

This is a whole new way to look at dried fruit. No added sugar- just simply pure fruit.

Dried fruit without sugar? O yes.

You betcha.

Everything from figs to golden berries to mango to dates to cherries and beyond. Just wait, you’ll fall in love with Made in Nature products. My family is hooked on them and they’re obsessed with everything that I bring home from Made in Nature. I know you will be, too.

I could literally spend a week talking to you about Made in Nature and how clean their products are (stay tuned for a post I’m writing soon about how they focus on real food and natural sugar from the fruit instead of added refined sugar). I’m not sure if there’s another brand that has such a vast array of products that are ALL delicious. Yes, all of them. Usually I find a few products I like but these are ALL incredible. I would not steer you wrong…get ready to dive in to some serious sweetness.

And the bet part? They’re ORGANIC and are full of so much flavor- you’ll find it hard to believe.

Here’s what they’ve got in stores nationwide. There’s so much to choose from here- I bet you could find something for everyone in your family.

Their dried fruits (which are great for adding to salads and coconut milk yogurt).

Their fruit snacks (which include their Figgy Pops that I’m highlighting below because they are so fabulous to pop into your mouth- little balls of fun protein).

Their veggie snacks (which are amazing for lunchboxes or desk-side snacks).

And their Ancient Grain Fusions (which are so incredible for a quick weeknight dinner when you want to get food on the table asap without ordering take-out).

Now, let’s start with these cute little balls, called Figgy Pops, which I tried for the first time last year when I was in L.A. You know those super cute little balls of fun I have in my cookbook and which you probably see all over Pinterest that are made from dried fruit and seeds? Well, there’s no need to get your food processor all dirty and your hands all gooey making them at home because these Figgy Pops are so tasty and they literally only have a handful of ingredients in each bag. There are a few flavors to choose from- it will be hard to choose only one flavor because they’re all so darn good. So, I suggest buying them all and having a party with yourself to do some taste testing. Ha. The Apple Cinnamon variety (below) are my favorite; they’re made from apples, dates, figs, cranberries, coconut, power seeds and cinnamon. Easy as that. Pure and simple. I don’t know about you but I don’t know any other brand on the market selling anything even remotely close to these with as few ingredients as you’ll find here AND they’re certified organic.

Not too shabby, huh?

This brand is the real deal. They’re based out in Boulder, Colorado and when I met them last year, I fell in love with them. They’re so caring and kind and supportive. They actually care about the consumer and want to put out products that are delicious but also healthy. It’s such a delight to meet folks who believe in their brand so much that it shines through in their products.

Have you tried dried figs? I don’t think I even saw a dried fig until a few years ago. Do I live under a rock? Figs weren’t a part of my childhood and I literally just started using them in recipes in the last 2 years but once I did, I couldn’t stop because of the flavor in THESE figs. O boy. You’re going to need to try these for yourself because they’re quite magical. I literally want to drizzle warm almond butter on top of them and eat these all day long. They’re that good.

And these toasted coconut chips! O my.

Check out all the flavors they’ve got for the coconut chips. These are great for topping smoothies, oatmeal, desserts and cereal.

Let’s not forget their Super Berry Fusion, which is a staple in our kitchen. It’s so versatile and easy to use in any recipe…it adds the perfect touch of sweetness to any dish.

This is a combo of berries and they’re great tossed into baking recipes such as baked oatmeal or sweet breads or muffins. They’re naturally sweet and add a lovely touch of flavor without the sugar high. Check out these Autumn Baked Oatmeal Squares I made last year using the Made in Nature dried fruit. You can use these berries for this recipe!

And I’m back to the Figgy Pops because they are just TOO good to be true.

I went a little camera-happy and snapped pics of a bunch of them so hang tight. I wanted to give you a good look at them. They’re bite-sized and fun to pop in your mouth for a snack or dessert. Plus, they’re awesome for kids to enjoy for snack time or with their lunch because they’re mess-free and easy to eat with their hands.

I don’t know about you, but I’m still all about finger foods. Am I still a kid at heart?

Yes.

And one last shot of a few of the Made in Nature snacks that I’m bringing with me to meetings this week. I like to pair them together- a bit of sweet and savory in each bite. These snacks are great because they keep well in their sealed bags or your own glass containers. I toss a bunch of their products together in small glass containers and use them throughout the week for clients and for myself when I’m headed out to meetings. Plus, they make such a beautiful spread for company when I’m entertaining. They’re a win-win in any situation and you’ll thank me later when you don’t get a sugar high or sugar headache after eating these. They’re my definition of Clean Eating. That’s for sure. Nothing you can’t pronounce. Nothing you need to worry about feeding your kids (or your husband, haha).

So, let me know what you think and have some fun diving into these products. You can do so much with these dried fruits. Get creative. Toss them into a few of your meals this week and I assure you, you’ll start to see your sugar cravings disappear because your body will be satisfied from eating the natural sugars found in these fruits. Bye-bye ice cream, heeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooo dried fruit.

Enjoy!

And do me a favor, have yourself a Figgy Pop tonight. You’ll thank me. I assure you.

  1. We winter in Fl where there is a Costco. Last year they carried a new product, Figgy Pops- the basic one- no cinnamon that I recall. I told friends about them. Oh my, I had to control myself from eating too many! They are SOOOO delicious! I hope they won’t discontinue carrying them this season, but I know I can get them online too. They usually drop the products I love so much! I had an A1c taken and found I am just under pre-diabetic. I haven’t been forbidden to eat these but am supposed to watch the carbs. I tried not to have more than 2-3 at one sitting last season. I can’t get them where I am now but will have them again in November. I know you said the dried fruit wasn’t high in sugar, but aren’t the Figgy Pops high in sugar? They can be addictive. I love them!! Thanks for the article!

    1. Thanks Joan; lovely to hear from you! I LOVE the Figgy Pops; the sugar count comes from the fruit so it’s not added sugar. You want to watch out for products with sugar on the label but this doesn’t have added sugar. It’s natural sugar from the fruit so it’s healthy. Big hugs and enjoy! xox
