Where would I be without condiments? Anyone that knows me and has visited my apartment, has commented on the vast array of condiments in my pantry as well as my refrigerator door.  You name it, I’ve got it…so that got me thinking…here’s a few condiments that you can find at your local health food store.  Be sure to look for those with minimal ingredients, additives and processing.  If you are just beginning your condiment collection, try including one from each of the different palate tastes: salty, sweet, spicy, sour, pungent and nutty.  Try a few of the below to get started.  Then, check out my Condiment List on the Misc. page.

Condiments can create enjoyable, individualized meals and each flavor has a different health benefit.

Tamari- Aids digestion; has less sodium than salt

Brown Rice Syrup- Sweet taste; does not cause rapid spike in blood sugar levels

Cayanne Pepper- Enhances blood circulation, stimulates digestion, warms the body

Apple Cider Vinegar- Cleanses digestive tract, increases circulation

Garlic- Stimulate metabolism, is antibacterial, anticarciogenic and antifungal

Pumpkin Seeds- High in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, contains iron, zinc, and vitamin A

Nutritional Yeast-(one of my favorites) Contains 18 amino acids and 15 minerals, rich in B-Complex vitamins
