Today I’m sharing another yummy latte recipe with you. This one is full of cinnamon, coconut milk, honey and a bit of turmeric and nutmeg. It’s naturally sweet and perfect for an evening treat after dinner or a late afternoon pick-me-up. It’s easy to make and takes less than 5 minutes to whip up. I serve this latte at my retreats for the beauty and body lecture where I talk to women about the importance of specific nutrients for healthy hair, radiant skin and strong nails, which leads me to today’s topic: Biotin.

What is Biotin?

Biotin is a B vitamin also known as vitamin H or Vitamin B7. It’s an important nutrient not only for your hair, skin and nails but also to help support energy metabolism and convert the food you eat into energy for your body to use.†

I took Biotin for many years in my 20’s and have taken it again recently to help support my hair and nail growth and I always see results within a few weeks of starting the supplement. I use the Natrol brand, who I’ve trusted for years, because their Biotin can helps support the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails.

Do You Need Biotin?

So, how do you know if you need Biotin? Good question. I get that question a lot from my readers and clients. Clinical studies have shown that those deficient in biotin experience hair loss and brittle nails so if you’re experiencing both or either of those symptoms, it’s a good idea to talk to your Integrative/Functional M.D. about taking biotin.

Taking Biotin

With the Natrol brand, you can choose from a variety of different ways to take Biotin supplements. They have fast dissolve, tablets and capsules so there’s a formula to fit every need. You can choose from 1,000mcg, 5,000mcg, or 10,000mcg strengths of Biotin.  Their unique fast dissolve form enables faster absorption and can be taken anytime, anywhere.  No water needed. How amazing does that sound? For me, that was my favorite! It comes in a yummy strawberry flavor so you don’t even realize you’re taking a supplement.

You can find Natrol supplements just about anywhere including drug and grocery stores, health food stores,  Costco and Sam’s Club and other online retailers. To find Natrol supplements near you, visit Natrol.com for more information.

Okay, no onto the Anti-Inflammatory Cinnamon Coconut Latte. It’s so yummy and is full of healthy fats and anti-inflammatory ingredients to support your overall health and your appearance (skin, nails, hair) as well as help balance out your hormones and digestion. It’s super easy to digest and there’s no need to stress out about thinking this is a complicated recipe because it takes less than 5 minutes. So, get your stove top ready and whip up this latte tonight. I have a feeling this will be your new go-to sipper throughout the winter. And it pairs deliciously with my Freckled Sesame Almond Clusters (below) from my cookbook, Eating Clean.

Enjoy!

  1. My mom is highly allergic to all things coconut, is there something else she could use instead for similar results?

    1. You can use BPA-free canned coconut milk if you’d like or you can use the Tetra pack culinary coconut milk from So Delicious or you can use the lighter version coconut milk- whichever you prefer, depending on how thick you’d like it.

    2. I used full fat coconut milk but you can also use the thinner coconut milk; different consistency and not as thick but still yummy. Both work differently here but they’ll both work! oxx
